Topic Dog Boards / Bring and Buy / Teazel's coat and leads + a new martingale collar
- By MamaBas [gb] Date 13.01.24 17:14 UTC
I have been on here before about Teazel's three coats and have been trying to find a good home for them as I really can't just throw them away.   One Breed Rescue I contacted said they have a lot of available coats and don't want more.   I have contacted a local breeder here who didn't get back to me.

The coats are an unlined mack for wet but warm days, a quilted one for colder but dry days and a fleece lined one which is waterproof and which she wore in the worst of a British Winter.   I have a black martingale, a back up for the one she normally wore (which I'm not ready to throw yet) and a thin 'show type lead which is basically yellow and black.  All, other than the totally unused martingale, are in good 'used' condition.

Does anybody want these items or could take them to pass on.   I'd pay to post them or if anybody is down here in Bude (holiday?) have them collected.

Thanks

Could they go on ebay and then if u wish any money could be sent to rescue ?

It's such a shame for them to not be used, especially when you know there will be little cold whippety people in rescue kennels, could you maybe post them to Lurcher Link in Halifax? They've always been very grateful for anything I've sent them.

I have sent an email to Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue.   Hopefully they will be interested - their website says they are always looking for collars.

They have replied and will take the coats etc. gratefully!   Nice to think her coats will be used, one way or another.

I should thank you for giving me an idea about approaching a Lurcher/Greyhound Rescue, not a Whippet one.   So thanks.  It will be going in the mail on Wednesday..........

So I mailed her coats, 1st class Royal Mail at our local sub-post office (easier parking) last Wednesday.   Not having heard from them despite the tracking showing it had been delivered just over 24 hours later (from Bude to Gloucestershire), I emailed them today to ask why I'd not heard from them.   I got an email back asking 'where that tirade had come from......' That has left me wishing I'd taken them into my vet's office.   Hey ho.   I just have to keep to the hope another hound is enjoying the warmth of Teazel's coat(s).

Oh that's such a shame Mamabas. It was a good deed to do, feel good about that. I know that the people who dedicate their life to rescue are often run ragged and as a result can be poor at getting in touch and sometimes forget simple manners.
