Hi, we are interested in buying a family dog and have read up on the weimaraners. I have 3 children (11,9,6), I am home all day, would this dog be a suitable choice? Also do they moult much as ive read conflicting reports about this. Many thanks.

I own four Weimaraners.
Yes they do moult. But not huge handfuls of fur, but they do coat and shed fine hair. I notice it only on our conservatory floor as its got this laminate flooring down. But on carpets you cant see it.
You ask what they are like with children. Hmm I have two kids and four Weims and we all get along fine. But its not the case with every family. Weimaraners are rather full of themselves and knock into children. The main worry is finding time to train your dog along side looking after three children. As the biggest thing you have to do is socialize your dog and train it.
