Happy New Year
Later this year I would like my dog to test for the Kennel Club Bronze award (The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme).

Has anyone booked the test themselves and can shed light on the process?

I tried to reach out to a local dog school, Tip Top Dog School to ask the trainer if she could arrange the test, but she confirmed they only book Kennel Club test for puppies.

It’s worth looking at some of the larger shows as they often offer KCGC testing. I got my girl tested at City of Birmingham last year, but I was entered anyway. There are others that do it, but you might have to enter ‘not for competition’ if you’re not competing anyway.

The tests are only done in group situations, so you can find them at local training clubs (sometimes including ringcraft clubs), at some shows and other events. Bronze level KCGCDS testing will be available at Manchester Championship Show, held at Stafford showground on the 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st. January, on an Enter on the Day basis. Charge is £5. Remember to take your poo-bags, lead and collar with name and address affixed, also your grooming equipment.

If you wanted to attend on your own breed day,
1st. Day is Working and Utility
2nd. is Hound and Pastoral
3rd. is Toy and Terrier
4th. is Gundog.
