Have just spent near enough the last fortnight hand rearing a friends litter. Two of the five pups were very sickly and have since died, vet said their bladders werent plumbed in completely and we had to have the second one pts today when it was obvious he had the same problem as the first.
During these two weeks, Ive even had e-mails from USA (Im in UK) wishing the babies well. Goodness it made me cry, but then Im overtired, knackered, upset, depressed and dreadfully upset.
What a lovely bunch doggy people are when the chips are down. Even the ones outside the breed. Theres been lots of you on this list who have kept me sane. Last 3 are fine now, so Im off for a bottle of wine, a good cry, and a nights sleep at last.
THANK YOU! YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Hope the puppies are still doing fine, know how you feel my last litter i had to watch as each one gave up and we lost them , they were born just over a week early and i tried so hard for them and nearly made myself ill being diabetic ending up uconscious through lack of sleep etc and thanks to my son who managed to bring me round and stopped the ambulance that was on it's way ,there was no way i was going to leave those pups, but it was all to no avail ,I decided then no more litters , it's too heartbreaking, and i guess i'm just not tough enough. so lots of love to those babies and best wishes to you who has put so much into them
