My bitch is now 35 days, what is the current protocol for worming schedule for her?  (not had a litter since 2009!)  She was wormed with Panacur in May before she was due her season.

Standard protocol is to worm with Panacur liquid every day from Day 42 through to 2 days post-whelping, using a  quarter of the usual dose for her pre-pregnancy weight.

We wormed our bitches before they were mated - never during pregnancy.  And they were wormed again when the puppies were first wormed - at 2 weeks, with a regular wormer, not what I treated the puppies with.

I realise people do worm their bitches when pregnant (or thought to be!!) but it's not something I felt happy to risk doing.

There are 2 schools of thought.

One is not to give anything during pregnancy, having wormed before it.

The other is to worm with Panacur according to the dosage sheet for pregnant bitches, starting I think from day 42.

I have used this protocol for 8 Generations of bitches.
