Our adoptee, Shep, GSD, was 20.5kg when we got him just before xmas, he is now 25.25kg so I have cut down quantity a little but he is a gobbler and then looks for more. I feed a mix of raw mince and burns kibble (previous GSD did well and had steady healthy weigh on this)
I think it may help if I could slow him down eating what he has a bit more.
Any thoughts and recommendations on which slow feeder bowls may be best ???

My niece has this one for her youngster, it's got really deep, narrow channels so takes ages for them to lick every scrap out.

Cheap and cheerful .use muffin tins , or I have stainless steel bowls and if u turn them upside down the bottom is like a moat. I fill that with food amd ot slows brooke down as she eats

25kg seems low for an adult gsd is he quite small?

I use a Green feeder for my gobbler of a dog, she’s a golden retriever so food is foremost on her mind. She normally has just kibble with some tinned fish on top every few days. If in a bowl the whole lot would be gone in seconds whereas the Green feeder takes her several minutes and on fish days a lot of licking goes on. There are two sizes, make sure you get the larger.
To ring the changes I put her kibble into a Kong Wobbler which she enjoys batting about and snaffling up the fallen pieces

Thanks for the ideas, I will have a look round. I have a Kong wobbler from Zuma so I can dig that out and let him try it.

He is very small compared to previous 3 GSDs who all weighed in at 40-44kg, Zuma was at vets some years ago who said 'nice to see a slim Shepherd' so I said ' he just weighed in at 43kg !'
Her comment ' well he is still a slim shepherd!'
His height is right at the bottom - if not just below - the breed standard so 25kg is about max he needs to be.

Past dogs have all stood in armchair with front feet on the back to look out of window, Shep does the same but the other week I heard a noise looked in and he had got all 4 feet on the back then stepped ONTO the window sill - about 6½ inches wide and was strolling along to the other end !!!

Aww little sweetie . Yours sound more like the weights of mine around the 40 kg -44 kg as well certainly wouldn't have fitted on the window call!

I was so surprised that I just yelled 'OYY! and he jumped onto the settee. I didn't think to grab a camera first - wish I had done so.
Someone I told about it asked was I sure he wasn't a German Shepherd Cat
