Topic Dog Boards / General / Looking for good boarding kennels
- By coldun [gb] Date 09.03.03 14:56 UTC
Hi

I wonder if anyone could recommend a good boarding kennels in the Barnoldswick area (lancs). My friend has 4 English Setters and has never put them into kennels before. She would be prepared to travel (within reason) for the right kennels.

As I live in Cumbria, I cannot really help her on this.

Many Thanks
Coleen

Hi Coleen

We had this problem with our dogs who normally go to their breeder when we go away, but couldn't on one occassion, so we had to bite the bullet and find kennels! We used a kennel in Cheshire which we found via the internet (it had won an award) and inspected in advance of our putting the boys there. The people who owned it were lovely, and the boys were very well looked after and it was obvious from the way the owners were fussing them when they left that they genuinely cared.

They were very happy to be inspected and I would suggest your friend check them out themselves. As I say, they were great with our boys and I would leave them there again if the need arose. Here's the details:

A & A Animal Hotel
Moss Cottage Farm, Hassall Road, Winterley, Sandbach, Cheshire

Ps I'd suggest your friend asks for directions when they phone - its dead easy when you know where you're going, but not when you don't!!! However, its just off the M6 so should be quite easy for your Lancs friend to get to.
