I would like to become a member of a society for Cavalier king Charles Spaniels. I have found one but it seems to only offer places to the "in crowd". Could anyone advise an official, registered club within the uk I can join that will allow me to enter and find out about shows around the country?

Hi Guest, Where abouts do you live? Let us know and I or someone else will let you have the name and number of a suitable club sec. That is if you have not already asked your breeder who, as Brainless said, is the best to ask as they will introduce you to other members of the club. all the best. Jackie H.

Hi, if your dogs' breeder is not a member of any breed clubs, and you cant get a "start" on finding a proposer and seconder, try going to a dog show that has classes for your breed and chatting to the exhibitors, who probably would be members. If you have the propsosal form/s, take them with you, and once you have explained to them why you want do join, and your "doggy" intentions you never know you may find two members of the same club to do it for you. If you are anywhere near Birmingham the Ladies kennel Ass, Championship Show is on the 7/8th Dec. Where there will be dozens of exhibitors/members to chat to. At Crufts in March, most breeds have "club stand/s" and if you haven't manged to find proposers and seconders by then, the club stand should be able to help. Some secretaries will propose you and suggest another member who may second it.
There will be more than one club, you can ring the Kennel Club to find out all the diffrent secretaries' phone numbers. I think the main clubs are on this site.
