Just about to have my girl hip scored. Vets advised long backlog at the BVA for results but advises these can be sent to Austrailia which operate the same scoring system and will be back much quicker

Has anyone done this? Are the results still seen as valid here? Can they be put on the KC health tests register?

If you send them to Aus our kc will accept the results if Sent to them as compliance for assured breeders scheme but they will not display the results on their system. So if anyone looks up your dogs on the Health test finder or in the BRS IT won't show anything so will look like it hasn't been done. You would need to show enquires your copy of the results.

The kc last I heard were looking into how the schemes compare. The biggest difference I see is the Aus one it's scored by a single person and you can pick who that is where as here its done by more than one person I believe.

I was told they had worked threw the backlog, it took 6 weeks to get the results in a dog i co own. So your looking at about 4-6 weeks for bva.

I believe in many other countries it's just an individual also.

Thank you sounds like better just sending to bva then, i did wonder if a backlog would mean they were also rushing through them which may not be good

My bitch has been scored under both the BVA and ANKC.She score a point higher with the ANKC than BVA on hips and had clear elbows on both they look for the same thing as the BVA.I did get my scores back from ANKC within 48hrs and 5mths with BVA

BVA 5/6 = 11
Elbows 0/0 = 0

ANKC 5/7= 12
Elbows 0/0=0
