There is a Facebook group, Canine Lymphoma. An empathetic environment and makes interesting reading. There are several different types of lymphoma though.

Thank u Carolc . I just found that out and tbh it doesn't really fit. Will have a look at that group
Waiting to have a more invasive biopsy later this week which may show what we are dealing with.
Oh no, I'm really sorry :(

Thank u .I still have my fingers crossed that the biopsy will show something other than cancer and something that is treatable . I know she is a fcr but cancer isn't the only thing

OK, still hope for some good news if results not in. How is she doing? Is she back home?

Thanks sue. As u can see from my post above I am not giving up yet.i want a full diagnosis before I can make a decision. Hanging on to the fact it could be something else .she is on lots of pain relief and during the biopsy theu are going to cut a nerve as well .I am assured it should help and not cause her any issues .then we can see what it really is

Have they not done the biopsy while she was in? Maybe cutting the nerve will actually help and be the crux of the issues? When we spoke it did sound somewhat nerve related. Give her a hug from me and a virtual one to yourself from me too

Yes she came home on Saturday having had a nerve block in her spine and lots of other pain.med and the first fna .unfortunately came back inconclusive so we now need to do a.more invasive one when they cut the nerve
.she is more comfortable but has occasionally severe pain .
Hoping we can get her in by Thursday for next biopsy

FF - So sorry you are going through all this. Thinking of you and you and your girl. Everything crossed here for encouraging results and some positive news. Best of luck. XX

Thank u everyone is so kind .
Let us know what happens :(

Small update. Brooke is going in to have surgery to cut nerve route *( non functional nerve at l3) on Monday and they will then take an biopsy to try and find out cause of inflammation.
She is on hugh levels of pain meds until then and I am cautiously happy she is comfortable until Monday
My vet is behind me with what I am doing and is talking to referral vet too. I can only hope the result is clear cut and we can make the right descion for her .full Results will probably take 5 days which is annoying

Good news . Brooke has had her op and the nerve root has been cut hopefully removing pain. She is now walking around comfortably according to vet who did the op.
Biopsy has been taken and he still can't work out wjat the strange tissue is . Coming home tomorrow for 2 weeks careful exercise and rest all being well
She always had been a atypical fcr and will get to her 10th birthday next week

Fantastic news. I am so pleased for you and having her back home will make all the difference! Such a positive thing. Maybe cake & candles on her 10th Birthday? For Mum too!

May share a bit of mine with her as my birthday is very close to hers
I'm glad your worst fears were unfounded and your girl will be able to enjoy her vintage years free from pain.

Thank u Carol. Hopefully but we still have the biopsy to get back .even if that is bad we if we can keep her pain free for longer that will be a bonus
10yo is good going for a flat coat! Fingers crossed.

Just caught up with this and so pleased a "good outcome" as of now.

Thanks kazz. I cant belive her recovery ..this morning g she is trotting around the garden as if nothing has happened. Its OK she is allowed that as it isnt a operation on the back as such .
No sign of pain

Update .. biopsy came back as sarcoma . I have consult with oncologist next week but pretty sure there is little that can sensibly be done from what the neuro told me .
So for now she is happy and in no pain so its each day as it comes
Oh no, I'm so so sorry

Thank u

This is absolutely the right attitude, we always need to try to be more dog, just enjoying the moment and not worrying about the future.

I am so sorry furriefriends. I know how I felt when our diagnosis was confirmed, half broken and half full of fighting spirit.
Sending love and support for your girl.

Yep - bummer. This is how I felt when, having felt a mass in his neck, one of mine returned a lymphoma diagnosis. Given his age then, and for sure, he was showing NO signs of feeling ill, we all opted not to treat (including my much trusted vet). He lived on for another 6 months, to the point I'd gone into denial. On his final day, he simply didn't come in when I called the others for their tea. I found him collapsed on the back lawn, brought him in, called my husband who came home and took him off to the vet. She gave him a shot of something (I forget what) and said leave it overnight. He was no better the following morning so we had to let him go. Horrible. But his final 6 months were happy and as far as any of us was aware, pain free.
My thought are with you.

Thank u mambas . That just about covers it ... what a bummer !
Yes I can understand the denial after no symptoms and time passing. Yes happy and pain-free that all we can ask for any of our dogs in this position

More dog chamsung .yep thats a good way to think .

furriefriends: Just picked up...sorry it wasn't better news. Having faced similar, I try to concentrate on where as companions we started, then put those spectacularly fun moments on 'brain replay' meaning everytime you look at your pooch over the next (how many?) months you will share, a positive and happy vibe is always present. Keep your chin up and take care X
