Hi has anyone used colloidal silver for their  dog’s ailments? If so what strength did you use? Where did you buy if from? Thanks

Only for the treatment of hotspots and it worked very well on those, edited to add that I have also used on my OH, a small wound that wouldn't heal.  It worked a treat.

And small wounds on dogs and humans cant say I found  much difference to using salt water tbh
Unfortunately our hotspots were rather serious and needed vet input no matter what I tried or how fast I got to them

I now use leucillin which seems to good enough for most small injuries

I couldn't see that it was any better than plain water.

I use it all the time both for myself and animals. Over the years have used it on cats rats and dogs.
Found it particularly effective on inflamed skin and scratches. Used it with success on an abcess on a rat.

My problem with these things is u can't do a fair test . Most small.thjngs will heal one way or another but as I found with the hotspots they needed far more.
Not saying it doesn't work and one speaks as u find  just that its hard to really do a comparison at home

ThAnk you all. I’m trying to treat my dogs yeast infected ears. I know it’s all trial and error and that all the reviews that have been printed are only the good ones! It’s early days yet but I’ll persevere. My vet want to treat with ear flushing and steroids. Maybe for the rest of her life! I really don’t want to go down that route as she’s only just 2 years old! Thanks once again.

mine has the same problem. We are on immunotherapy which helps significantly but we still get problems. Saw vet yesterday and yes inflamation from malazzia yet again.
We are now using otomax for the next 3 weeks daily . followed by twice weekly  cortavance . Steroid spray which helps to keep any reactions down

From my experience you may need the steroids initially and possibly an ear flushing's to bring down the inflammation and remove the muck  then treatment to stop it coming back .we have done all this and more but now its just occasional topical treatments to keep things going correctly

If its an allergy as often is then unfortunately its life long treatment even with the immunotherapy

Hi furriefriends. I understand your frustration. I feel that many times the vet will treat it with a steroid which may help the symptom but doesn’t alleviate the cause. I’ve had Coco on a white fish and Simpsons 80/20 mixed fish kibble for 10 weeks now. No treats except pure fish skins. Now I’m wondering whether it’s the potato used to bind the kibble is what she’s allergic to! I now have a cupboard full of dog food which I don’t know whether it will affect her! I think the local dog shelter will do well with that! Thanks for your reply.

Its tricky we spent months before i finally went to a specialist. Then we found out it was environmental allergens which u cant remove .hence the immunotherapy with top up treatment.
Might be worth ear flush and short term steroids to get things back to comfortable and inflammation gone and the yeasts removed then use other no steroid things to go forward.
I know we use contravance but as its topical it doesn't give the sideeffects oral steroids can . Ears and allergies are awful. Actually allergies and skin is awful and its all the same hat

Potatoes will definitely be feeding yeast.
