Topic Dog Boards / Health / How do I send Health Information to the Kennel Club?
- By Peter Watson [in] Date 11.01.21 13:51 UTC
I can't find anything on the Kennel Club website to tell me how to send health information such as hip scores (from Australia see my last post) and dna tests to them. I would rather not send by post because the post is taking longer now and also during covid lockdown I expect Kennel Club staff are working from home. Is there an email address or if your pedigree dog is kennel club registered is there some way of logging on to the Kennel Club website and submitting?
The Kennel Club telephone line offers a lovely menu of number options to press, none of which seem relevant and nobody picks up the line anyway!
I have 8 Golden Retriever puppies aged 5 days and need to get my skates on and get the Dam's health records updated!
Please Help!

That is because it isn't a link, it is an email address

They won't publish the Australian hip scores, just store them on the dogs profile on their side of the database so not much use especially as they are no longer printing health results on pedigrees!

I have never seen them print health test results on pedigrees (onevreason I have always compiled my own).

It was only on the Registration documents, that this information was include for dogs and their parents.

I think it's a truly retrograde step not including results on the paperwork.

I still need a hip and elbow score done for both parents to be able to register the puppies as pedigree though right?

If your an Assured breeder and it's in the required testing then yes.

Otherwise as long as bitch is between 1 year at mating and whelos by 8 years, and registration not endorsed the KC will register a litter from 2 KC registered parents.

Bitches can have a maximum of 4 litters registered, as long as they have not had 2 C sections.

Of course it is the ethical and responsible thing to do all breed appropriate Clinical and DNA testing.

Peter - the requirement for health tests is only for Assured breeders but ethically all breeding dogs should be done. However, the KC won't accept the ANKC results for the ASB scheme.

Springwell:> the requirement for health tests is only for Assured breeders but ethically all breeding dogs should be done

Their are 2 categories of breeder. The first (majority) are ADVISED to perform Mandatory & Recommended.
The second (KC Assured Breeders) MUST perform Mandatory & Recommended
ANKC won't be accepted for the second.  ANKC won't be added to the KC site but those (first breeders) will be able to
inform potential new owners that the ANKC test has been done and accept photocopies of the results as viable.

Complicated I know but hope this helps a little bit...I find it all so confusing and very irritating!

The ABS scheme is currently accepting scores from overseas, you need to send them in. They just note them down against the dogs pedigree
