I mated my KC registered bitch with a KC registered stud dog. When the stud owner sent me the dogs pedigree it had an endorsement on it. I queried this before the mating and the stud owner confirmed in writing that the endorsement had been lifted and that they had not bothered to get new KC certificate due to cost. Before I registered the litter the stud owner told me that the letter to the KC had ‘gone missing’ and not been received . Consequently the endorsement was still in place. They claimed that they had tried to lift Endorsement through KC. The KC confirmed that they had received an application to lift the endorsement a month ago but the letter confirming this had not been uploaded. The stud owner has now decided not to reply to any of my emails, my new owners are due to collect their pups but I cannot get the pups KC registered. I have a trail of paperwork confirming that she had lifted the endorsement  before the mating but this was clearly not the case. What are my options ?

Sorry you've fallen for a scam by the sounds of it.

New kennel club certificates are quite cheap compared to the stud fee.

You'll have to sell this litter unregistered and explain to the new owners what happened. Unfortunately there's not much you can do except learn from this. Never trust anyone's word and never breed without the updated endorsementless papers.

Was the stud bred by the breeder? If not then it's likely the breeder refused to lift the endorsements and the stud owner used him anyway.

Did he have all the  health testing for his breed?

I'd take this to the KC.

Once the Kennel Club have received a letter to lift the endorsement they do so and confirm by letter ( and email if you email the signed letter/form).

The loss of confirmation letter will not make any difference and you should be able to register the litter if in fact the endorsement was lifted.

If the KC have confirmed they have the request to lift then they should be updating the record shortly, and you can then register your pups.

Have you actually had your registration application refused???

Did you ask the KC to upload the endirsement lifting details so you can register your pups. I would expect the person on the phone would have pushed it through, due to urgency.

I would ring again, or try to register once more.

It is taking 28 days+ for litters to be registered, and then longer to receive the paperwork.

The KC have accepted my payment and the registration is pending but when I phoned they told me the endorsement has not been lifted although they can see the attempt was made by stud dog owner just incomplete.

If the stud dog owner is not his breeder then they can’t lift the endorsement, it is his breeder he needs to apply.

I’ve just had an endorsement lifted on my girl. I did it via the KC website, crucially I had to attach a photo of a letter signed by her breeder.
So the owner can apply, but it has to be supported by the breeder.

I was very impressed, it took 48 hours which is amazing.

Sounds like it's going to go through, I take it the stud owner bred the dog, else your application would have simply been rejected.

If the dog was not bred by the stud owner, do you know who bred him, and would they be willing to help you, and lift them.

If full hralthbtesting has been done on both dog and bitch they might just work with you to get litter registered.

So I'm confused, a letter requesting it to be lifted had been received and they the KC had yet to lift? Did they advise whether this was going to be lifted by them or not?

Who bred the boy? If they the owners didn't I would be on the phone to the breeder asking them about this ASAP!!

If the owner isn't the breeder it's possible the owner has sent a letter asking the kennel club to lift it claiming that they didn't know about the endorsements. The kennel will write to the breeder giving them time to reply. I'm guessing that's why they're saying it has yet to be completed.

If that's the case then the breeder will either provide evidence they knew and then it will stay or won't in which case it'll be lifted. The fact the stud dog has now stopped replying makes me doubt they are genuine. If it was a genuine delay from the kennel club they would have said that from the outset.

If the owner is the breeder, I don't know why the kennel club would say it's incomplete rather than it's still processing
