Tested day 9 ...not detectable
Tested day 13 ..17.2
Tested day 14....17.4
Tested day 15....16.4
Tested day 17....28.4
Mated day 18..stood for dog happily ,12 mom tie
Day 19 no interest in the dog at all and vulva swelling reduced.
Does this sound hopeful or not ??

Njj:  Day 18....28.4 or above possibly - hopeful yes - rejection to the sire can mean two things - she either feels very insecure of her surroudings or she is aware she has taken.  Possibly more reasons but these are the most likely.  Please don't force her and accept things as they are.  You can always have her scanned at 28 days from mating if you want to confirm pregnancy.

We allowed them together (supervised of course ) but after a few minutes it was obvious neither was interested in a repeat performance and so that's how we left it.

Sounds good. Probably ovulated a day or so before blood collection and you mated the day after, so nice timing.

So you got the leap in progesterone there some time between day 15 and day 17 (showing why you do need more than one quick test to know what's going on with progesterone, because you've got to catch that leap).

She did go over very fast, though. It takes 48 hours after ovulation for eggs to ripen, then they remain available for fertilisation for a further 48+ hours.

If we say she ovulated on day 16, then the eggs would be ripe for fertilisation on day 18 - when you got your tie. Semen would remain viable and waiting for 3-5 days from that mating, so you are covered beyond that time by that mating.

Really the eggs should remain there fertilisable for another couple of days at least, so you would expect her still to accept matings on day 19 and 20. But it's not a problem that you didn't get one because that semen from the first mating is still there and viable.

It's often said that a breeding just before the bitch goes over, is the most fertile - so I think you have an excellent chance.
