The veterinary practice in the Yorkshire Vet program that was previously owned by Alf Wight, & that became part of the Medivet chain, is stopping treating large animals. Probably because they don't generate enough profit.

Doesn't come as any surprise to me, no wonder Julian left.

I wonder if that’s why there is another vet from another practice that seems to be appearing on the show now. I’m surprised that Peter is accepting this as he really seems to enjoy the large animal work, but he is getting closer to retirement now

You could be right. Recently in one episode Peter said he is happiest out on the farms so I wonder if he is planning on retiring. I know he's really well thought of by the local farmers, including my nephew!

I wonder what will happen to his 'friends' the Greens!!   Interestingly my husband never liked Peter - maybe he saw something I haven't.   I'd lay odds Julian will be picking up the work Peter won't now be doing........ !!

Medivet have added 6 new vets to the practice including 3 that only work nights, which is another Medivet norm.

I understand that fees have gone up in line with all Medivet practices.

People compare Peter to Alf, but really Julian is much more like him, apart from being a typical West Yorkshire guy.

There is another practice in Thirsk of course.

The other practice that was featured was from Huddersfield I think
