I thing is not calm down soon because i still see new people ( sorry i'll call them idiots ) trying to sell golden retriever one and half year old for £3500!!!
Prices on pets4home market goes crazy as dogs owners there. Greedy idiots. One of them ask £5000 for golden because he bring him from Italy and price is so high because he trying to secure puppy from re-sell.

I’m so shocked at the price of puppies, I’m actively looking for a Dalmatian puppy and have been looking for the right one some time, unfortunately I missed out on one.  I have recently contacted a breeder on pets4home and it turns out I had previously spoken to them... last time the price was £900 and now there asking £2000!! How can someone justify doubling the price? I find this is the case for most breeds now and it such a shame as it will put some people off or worse... encourage others to become puppy farms due for the money

ARKADIO: The majority of new adverts you are looking at on Pets4homes are exactly as you describe (greedy idiots) however there will be some long term Breeders too who have used the site for years (check when they joined) They have likely been in the dog arena for many years and know what they are about.  The main thing to look for is Health Tested but be aware of what the results mean. I don't believe that excessive cost is in the fear of reselling at a profit - I agree greed is behind it no matter how they try to explain it away.  No one can magic up an available Puppy for you but seeking out a reputable Breeder and waiting for that Puppy to be born from a waiting list will reap huge benefits and that is when you should be prepared to pay a little more.

doddy; Buying a Puppy:  Most responsible Breeders have stopped having Litters through COVID.  That means that the unscrupulous take advantage by selling any breed, crossbreed or unregistered puppy at hugely inflated prices.  My advice would be to wait until all this madness is over, meantime get yourself on a waiting list with a reputable breeder and be prepared to pay a decent price for a health tested, well bred Puppy.

I brought a bulldog puppy 5 months ago the breeder said the papers were delayed due to covid, I've asked several times for the papers and got the same reply until today he wants an extra £2000 for the papers can he do that i feel like we are being bullied, we paid £4000 cash surly this is against the law. Can anyone advise, thanks in advance.

Hi,
It's a bit of a story sorry.

After long searching we have found a lab puppy from 5star breeder. Both parents Kc registered, health tested with great score. We choose our puppy but 2 weeks before collecting the breeder told is puppies want be KC registered...they had a litter of puppies on 28/11/2019  and current one on 14/11/2020. That means the registration was rejected because there was 2 weeks left to 1 year gap between litters. I'm a bit gutted, because we are paying a lot of money. Everything else seems to be all right . Not sure what to do... should i carry on with buying it...?

The 12 month gap is for breeders considered commercial and requiring a breeding licence.

The 12 month gap in this case is 'The law' and not a KC rule.

The breeder should not have bred this litter, as it's ilegal, and I would nit be suppirting them by buying a pupoy.

They would have kniwn when mating her that litter would be born too soon.

Sounds fishy to me....it is perfectly logical that a bitch could have whelped 2 litters within a year and in this case only 2 weeks off. I have seen many bitches, within my own breed, have litters in a much smaller time frame than this, which have been KC registered. I strongly suspected there is another reason!!

The breeder is registered on champsdog website. I can see all the details of mother and father. I've also checked them on Kennel Club website.  Seems weird to me too...

As Brainless says "The 12 month gap is for breeders considered commercial and requiring a breeding licence". These are the terms set by the Dog Breeding Licensing requirements and the KC.

However as bitches very frequently come into season every five and a half months Champdogs sensibly recognise this fact and their Terms and Conditions for advertising a litter requires the bitch to have whelped over eleven months from her last litter. No doubt Champdogs Admin can clarify if there is confusion on this point and listing of this litter.

If you have a query about a litter, please contact admin@champdogs.co.uk with the litter details and your question.
