So the K.C. health test results checker is up and running, albeit very slow, but has anyone found and accessed MyKC yet because I can’t find it!
- By CaroleC [gb] Date 01.10.20 09:41 UTC Upvotes 1
Same here, my dashboard is up and working, (IMO it is not as good as the previous version), but I can't locate MyKC! No reference to it in FAQ's either!
- By CaroleC [gb] Date 01.10.20 09:53 UTC
It is slow, but I am getting health results and parentage for dogs other than my own. Having trouble going further back than the parents though. No doubt all will become clear!
- By helengregson79 [gb] Date 01.10.20 09:57 UTC
I believe MyKc is gone. It’s all under the one new website now.
- By masajackrussell [gb] Date 01.10.20 10:02 UTC
Do we have to re-register as it says my existing account details don’t exist!
- By helengregson79 [gb] Date 01.10.20 10:06 UTC
Yes.
I re registered and all my dogs are listed in my new account.
- By satincollie (Moderator) Date 01.10.20 10:08 UTC
Yes you need to re-register. My Kc is no longer separate its all supposed to be in this new area  https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/faqs/?fbclid=IwAR3EU-VWfG6FIbeP9sGfZU6KrP6i88Xmo5_-SSfvq6t_34bKjUZ7yYA4SHw
- By masajackrussell [gb] Date 01.10.20 10:09 UTC
Thanks. Just done it but no dogs...
- By CaroleC [gb] Date 01.10.20 10:18 UTC Upvotes 1
I like the fact that the KC have now added a dog's titles, but why is the list of litters that a dog has sired in such a random order? Unless I'm missing something, pedigree tracing is going to be more laborious.
- By Lexy [gb] Date 01.10.20 10:34 UTC
Glad it isn't just me....
- By satincollie (Moderator) Date 01.10.20 10:39 UTC
I have none listed on mine either the same as a great many others.
- By Jodi Date 01.10.20 10:53 UTC
Like everyone else I’ve had to register again and it’s now saying that I need to give them more contact details so it can complete registration. A screen comes up with my email address which is greyed out which can’t be changed unless you contact them (I don’t want to change it), two other details which are optional are for  phone number and postcode, as they are optional I’ve not filled them in. No idea what I’m supposed to update. Seem to be a bit stuck
- By Jodi Date 01.10.20 10:56 UTC
No dogs either and can’t find my current dogs name. I hope it improves otherwise it’s a bit useless. MYKC worked perfectly first time
- By suejaw Date 01.10.20 11:01 UTC
I believe that the search on mykc for different breeds, dogs, mate select etc will all be coming back. Going to take time.
If you have dogs missing as in my case or endorsements have been put back on my dogs in error there is a link to click to report this
- By RozzieRetriever Date 01.10.20 11:18 UTC Upvotes 7
I can’t see what was wrong with the old system, I knew what I was doing with that! All I can see is the same information for my dog but bigger so you have to scroll up and down instead of it all being neatly together.
- By RozzieRetriever Date 01.10.20 11:30 UTC
I’ve re registered, but can’t find my dogs info listed anywhere. It takes me straight to a page offering a variety of memberships (at a cost of course). I suppose it’s a matter of wait and see! So frustrating.
- By satincollie (Moderator) Date 01.10.20 11:44 UTC
I have sent a general report to say none of my dogs are showing however I will need to go fetch my files if they need me to list each one with date of birth and reg number and after all that should be part and parcel of upgrading the system. I could accept it if it was a one off slip but it seems they have rushed this through and are now paying the price with disgruntled customers which at the end of the day is what we are.
- By epmp [gb] Date 01.10.20 12:22 UTC
I managed to re-register and all my dogs are on there but I've noticed that they all show as having endorsements when, in fact, some of them had them lifted. I'm hoping it's just a glitch in the system and will get sorted out.
- By jogold [gb] Date 01.10.20 14:45 UTC
None of my dogs are showing up but all dogs in my dad's name came up and their long gone.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 15:03 UTC
MY KC:  Had same problem this morning, emailed KC & received a relpy that yes we all have to re register for MY KC and that there will be a delay to data being added.  This will contunue until all 'cleaning up' of the old My KC has been done and information transfer completed - may take some time but to use the email contact site with a list of options available if you become concerned....
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 15:06 UTC
New KC Website; It's a major overhaul for the site and it is only day one.  Patience is probably required - oh and the contact telephone number didn't work either.
- By Lexy [gb] Date 01.10.20 15:30 UTC Upvotes 4
I have to say, why fix what aint broke & wonder how many thousands it has cost?...not impressed!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 01.10.20 15:36 UTC Upvotes 2
Nor can I.
It's worse than before.

What you want is as much information for a dog on one page.

It's even more bitty having to click for everything.

Can't find planned litter, pedigree, health comparison. In other words all the important stuff.

Confusingly litters produced are higgledy piggledy, not in date order for dogs I have checked.

Only good thing is does let you give new owners details for dogs listed in your account, that have been sold, but not transfered.

As some of mine are decades old, a simple option of sold would be handy to declutter, as there doesn't seem to be a simple list view for them.

I really help MYKC comes back on some form, I can’t see how to check a dog’s health test against all of its progeny/siblings etc which is a massively useful tool. It seems the EBV confidences are a bit wonky and being reported wrong too. But I agree that it’s early days and hopefully things will be easier in time.

>I can’t see how to check a dog’s health test against all of its progeny/siblings etc which is a massively useful tool.

The Compare Health tests feature, along with the at-a-glance summary of how many litters and registered progeny an animal had, were incredibly useful. (Learning that a pet-bred puppy farmed dog had sired over 50 litters, while the breed CC record holder had sired less than 10, was an eye-opener!)

If ever the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" needed verification, the new KC site does just that. It might be better on phones but on a PC it's shocking.

Couldn't agree more...
- By onetwothreefour Date 01.10.20 17:33 UTC
I'm just hoping these are teething problems and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt to get it all sorted out over a few weeks.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:07 UTC
My KC: Goodness me - it has only been running for a day....what's the hurry?  we all know who our dogs are.... maybe another reason to be continually checking the site?  I don't know
- By RozzieRetriever Date 01.10.20 20:12 UTC Upvotes 4
Well I am waiting for hip and elbow scores that were done in July.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:14 UTC Upvotes 6

>it has only been running for a day....what's the hurry?

people might have a litter to register perhaps?
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:17 UTC Upvotes 10
maybe another reason to be continually checking the site?

Reasons to use MyKC:
1. Registering puppies.
2. Transferring ownership.
3. Quickly look up registration numbers and microchip numbers without checking paperwork.
4. Check the health test results of a stud dog you are interested in.
5. Check the pedigree of a stud dog you are interested in.
6. Check progeny of a stud dog you are interested in, including their results.
7. Check how many litters a dog or bitch has produced.
8. Check the COI of a dog you have an interest in.
9. Check if hip scores or other health tests have been added to your dog's details before you receive them from the vet.
10. Research pedigrees.

Rozzie Retriever:  And I have just received email re DNA Testing done in August:  Shouldn't your chosen Laboratory be the one to inform you first as the KC only list updated results at the end of every month (think it's the 28th)?  Hope they arrive soon...
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:19 UTC Upvotes 3

HIP SCORES?? From a laboratory?
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:21 UTC
Reasons to use My KC: Yes absolutely relevant but all Breeders plan well in advance and without doubt  all this info is relevant however the site has only been down for a few weeks and as you have all stated, years pass between your planned litters ?....
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:22 UTC
HIP SCORES:  Picky - your Vet gets confirmation of Hip & Elbow Scores before you do and are your point of call for results
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:24 UTC
Jeangenie:  A litter can be registered by post,  Granted it takes longer but still a viable option
- By RozzieRetriever Date 01.10.20 20:25 UTC Edited 01.10.20 20:28 UTC
Tried that. Was advised to check K.c. as they often go there first. And I’m thinking about my possible first litter so the website does come in handy for checking out suitable stud dogs.

Edited to add, my DNA tests all came back from the lab within a week.
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:26 UTC Upvotes 1

Well I for one use MyKC for all the reasons stated and only registering puppies and transferring ownership are only relevant to when you have a litter. I'd guess I normally use it for info about 3-4 times a week. It helps with breed notes as well as I can easily check age and parentage of a dog I might mention in them for whatever reason.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:28 UTC
Goldmali:  All of your reasons listed,  Surely contacting the Breeder of any said dog you are interested in is the best option anyway.  Technology nowadays allow Health Test Results etc to be emailed to you.  Apologies but I don't see an issue when we are talking about roughly 30 days without My KC?
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:28 UTC Upvotes 2
Picky - your Vet gets confirmation of Hip & Elbow Scores before you do and are your point of call for results

Not really. It's a waste of time for everyone to keep calling the vet to ask if they have had the results -they arrive when they do, in the post. Very often I have seen the scores online before I get the score sheet back in the post. I certainly did last time, which was this year.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:31 UTC
Goldmali:  Absolutely your perogative if you feel the need to check details all the time _ just saying a few weeks without that option doesn't present a problem for Breeders or New Owners when technology on our own part is prevelant,
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:31 UTC Upvotes 7
Surely contacting the Breeder of any said dog you are interested in is the best option anyway.

Again a total waste of time. If I have say 5 dogs that interests me and I can check what their health results are and their offspring's in a minute online and can quickly decide against 3 of them due to having produced unsatisfactory results, why waste my time and stud dog owner's by contacting them all? You do your research before contact.
- By RozzieRetriever Date 01.10.20 20:34 UTC Upvotes 2
Totally my logic too Goldmali.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:34 UTC
Well that's fine but I still beg the question of why these results are so urgent unless there are a que of  new owners waiting to know if there are Puppies planned next 6 months or year - am I missing something?  The My KC site will be enhanced after this overhaul IMO
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:35 UTC Upvotes 3
Absolutely your perogative if you feel the need to check details all the time _ just saying a few weeks without that option doesn't present a problem for Breeders or New Owners when technology on our own part is prevelant,

I never said I can't manage without it for a few weeks, or anyone else, I merely stated reasons for using it as you asked.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:37 UTC
Rozzie Retriever:  Why don't you request your Vet calls you when the results arrive ... it's what I do and they have never let me down,,,no time wasted on either side then
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:39 UTC
Goldmali:  Totally but then the whole thread is all about 'dissing' the new My KC website for not getting it together immediately on day one.  I asked what the hurry was not the reasons you use My KC
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:40 UTC Upvotes 2
Well that's fine but I still beg the question of why these results are so urgent unless there are a que of  new owners waiting to know if there are Puppies planned next 6 months or year - am I missing something?

Sure, a few days or so won't make any difference at all practically. But it's important results and you wait weeks as it is, so people are normally eager to know results ASAP. I certainly am.
- By Hoggie [gb] Date 01.10.20 20:41 UTC
Goldmali:  But surely as a hobby breeder time is not an issue so no rush to do all this investigative work in 30 days?
- By Goldmali Date 01.10.20 20:43 UTC Upvotes 2
Hoggie you asked: maybe another reason to be continually checking the site?

So I gave reasons as to why people use it as you seemed to believe it had no other function than to see a list of your own dogs.
