Dear friends

Hiya!  My wife Nancy and I are American and Scottish citizens.  We moved to Scotland nearly 15 years ago.  When we moved we  brough our Shih Tzu named Kong with us.  Kong lived for 17 years and we sadly lost him to old age last year.

Now, we are in search of a West Highland White Terrier, however, we are having trouble finding one.  If anyone can help us please let us know.  We stay just beside Holyrood Park so our Westie will have many happy walks in the park.

Warm regards

Joe

You probably realise that although prices may be coming down as reputable breeders start their breeding programmes again, now is not really the time to be buying a puppy, of any breed.   Most BYBs are charging, and presumably getting because of the huge demand at the moment (people with time whilest a home because of the Virus) crazy prices for what they are producing, be it purebred (usually unregistered) or mix bred which often cost more than a purebred puppy does.

If you don't find what you want on this website, contact the relevant Breed Club.  Clubs should have effective Codes of Ethics which excludes known BYBs.

Don't do what some old neighbours of ours did and, being turned down by Westie Rescue, went up to Scotland and bought a Westie puppy from a man off a ferry.  W.Rescue had turned them down because they both worked full time.   The man they bought from couldn't care less!
