Hi, Im after some advice. My bitch had her 1st litter of pups after a slip mating when she was 2, all perfect. I put her to the another stud 14 months later but she never fell pregnant even after a normal tie. This time round i decided to use ovulation pads, however the readings were mixed, around day 10 the test should positive in the morning , then negative in the evening, this happened for a few days, i finally took her to the original stud at day 15 & 17 as i didnt trust the readings however she has just been scanned on day 35 by our vet buts she's not pregnant. What other options for testing ovulation timing are there and could there be any health issues that could be causing her not to fall pregnant.

Try progesterone testing. This is much more accurate, means you will know exactly when she has ovulated and when to take her to the stud. Some bitches can have very small windows as well and every season can be different from the previous

Ovulation pads don't work. If you want to test (rather than just go on the average days for your breed) then progesterone testing is the only reliable test available.
