hi my bitch still wont let the stud mount her, i took her to a stud on the 9th day and he tried to mount her and she snapped at him so i took her back on 12th day and still the same, so i changed stud and took her to the new stud on the 14th day she was still the same, shes stayed with the stud and is there now still, on the 16th day she started flirting and flagging but still snaps at him when he mounts her, its the 18th day today and hes licking her alot but still nothing, the stud is proven and she has whelped before, hoping there going to tie before sunday as thats when im picking her up, is there anything we can do to get them to mate or is she just not ready, she was ready on 12th day last time she mated and had no isues so just abit confused

no, not had her tested she was bleeding alot at the beginning so i really don think ive missed it from before day 9

To be sure, it's best to take her to the vet for a progesterone test.

I agree, the only accurate way to tell is to progesterone test. We do this even if we're mating one of our girls to our own boys!

She might not be ready until day 21, 22, 23, 24 blah - I've even heard of dogs mating successfully on day 28....

Why not get her tested - it's by far the easiest way to know when to take her to the stud - she'll be fed up of him trying when he really needs to do the job!

well the stud is 2hours away, she is my friend so i felt comfortable leaving her there, so wont be able to test her now, shes flagging and hes licking her alot so i think she is nearly ready.
