Hi, I've been looking for a family pet and a dog I'm able to take to school with me.  I've had labs in the recent past and a spaniel cross when I was a child.
Thanks, Jeannette

There are 8 Spaniels, in the gundog group, you need to specify which of those eight you are looking for

Thanks, Lexy.
I would prefer a cocker spaniel for its size and temperament.  I would consider a cross breed - sprocker or another suitable pairing.

There is no 'suitable pairing' in my eyes I'm afraid.   Only BYBs spent time messing around with established breeds, so if you want a well-bred carefully reared puppy (who wouldn't) please don't contribute to the income of these people.  You may do best to wait as although things are easing some now, reputable breeders curtailed their breeding plans, waiting for the time when visiting to see the litter, and collect a puppy, can be done without risk of spreading infection.  Add to that, people continuing to breed are asking, and presumably getting, hugely inflated prices because there aren't quite as many puppies available at the moment.   So prices have risen to ridiculous levels.   It may even be next year before there are more litters around, to outweigh the current demand and so prices start to drop to more realistic levels again.

Thank you, MamaBas.
I appreciate your advice.
I have waited for the right dog for my family so would wait further to get the best dog from a reputable breeder.  I did this with my labs many years ago and had 17 very happy years with my dogs.

Springer Spaniel cross Cocker Spaniel are a very common cross & has been for many decades, with those who work their gundogs, so not just one of these new made up names but Champdogs don't advertise any cross bred dogs.

Breeders will not contact you, so try looking here https://www.champdogs.co.uk/breeds/cocker-spaniel/breeders

There is quite a difference between the show Cocker spaniel & a working Cocker Spaniel, not just in look but also in temperament/stamina.
