We have taken part in this study and thought it maybe of interest to some

It was part of the bundle of tests I did on my bitch, for Labrador obesity, and she's clear.  I hadn't been aware even that it was included.

unfortunately although we took part individual results weren't given. I could pay for it but don't see the point apart from interest. Yes she is a terrible foodie , always hungry it seems regardless of the amounts she is given . She will steal anything that's remotely edible  and I have to watch her weight continually so its likely she has the gene . only testing will tell

Zasa is a foodie as well, but she's clear, I think it's more the potential they have easily burn energy, possibly?

It could easily be other factors. I think the idea there is an " excuse " is appealing but is bu knows mean the fact unless evidenced

Not an excuse as such, but some dogs might well be more prone to weight gain, which, if you are aware, then hopefully you can do something about.

I am just not sure how it can be used ?

I guess you don't put 2 dogs together which can produce an affected lol
