Check out allaboutdogfood.co.uk and filter on raw to compare.

I've found it all trial and error in what my dogs will eat too.
I get mine from a business which stocks many different brands. I've tried most and they vary in prices hugely.
You need to decide whether to do it DIY or complete raw and they to vary in price.
I have fed mine in all ranges and my fussiest won't eat the cheapest or the most expensive, the latter makes me smile but more mid range. I do minced bone and meat mix and then throw in offal every now and then. I balance my meals out over the week rather than daily or per meal.

Texture can also Make a difference. Some dogs dont like the almost pate like texture of some of the commercial.completes.
it can be trial and error so dont give up just because a dog doesn't like.the first one you try.  Buy in small quantities until u are sure what suits .
Poo is also a good guide to what is going on . Too hard it's likely to be a bit high in bone and too soft its likely to be too high in offal or not enough meat . The figures are based on an average dog and some need it tweaked
Mine get a mixture of different meats .some completes and at other times chunks of meat with whole bone and offal . I get mine for a supplier online who has a very good range including free range  and as suejaw says balance over a week or so

Is there any advantage as far as coat etc to using raw.
- By peppe [gb] Date 23.06.20 17:32 UTC
So you do not feed any kibble with the meat.

Nothing other than raw  meat offal and bone, some people add vegetables.  That bit can be discussed forever as to if its needed

It's a totally natural  balanced diet and doesn't need kibble  which would be considered processed and isnt something I would included .

Most people who feed raw feel that a dog on  raw ihas a generally nicer  coat often looks better and less health issues .
I know its open to conjecture but  For me it feels like my dogs are having a more natural diet and like us is  considered better than processed diet
Also poos are definitely much nicer as they dont smell as bad .

I have seen coat benefits on a raw diet but also minor ailments have cleared up, smelly ears, red eye, dry/flaky skin and of course teeth and general mouth health.    Could all be a coincidence but I am convinced that this was down to feeding a raw diet.

Hi guys, my golden retriever bitch is 3 weeks post mating and she’s gone off her normal raw meals, I know this is completely normal at this stage but she will eat chicken wings and sprats. She’s normally on an 80-10-10 chunky mince meal which contains tripe (the dogs butcher) she usually loves this meal but for the past 3 days she won’t touch it. Is it normal that they could go off tripe or a certain protein? Is there anything else I can try with her? I’m trying to keep it at 80-10-10 for the nutrition obviously. This is my first time breeding and I’m just worried she’s not getting the nutrition she needs right now TIA X

Are you trying to give her too much food?
- By Lauren1 [gb] Date 07.11.20 14:55 UTC
No, just her normal daily intake but she’s turning her nose up completely at her 80-10-10 meals which is why I have offered chicken wing/sprats. Wondering if there’s any advice on what else I can try?

The dogs butcher do lots of different things so maybe try a different complete. Or  buy some meat with bone in from the supermarket or butcher and try her on  another protein  are u confident enough to diy ? Or U could try a small selection of completes from the dogs butcher as they are nicely balanced and see what she wants atm .
If u diy .u will need to add some offal .liver is easy to find and u may be able to find kidney or  other things are available from the dogs butcher . It could be her tastes have changed and sometimes textures make a difference.

I have had the same thought today, I have been out and got some different proteins in mince, liver, kidney and meat on the bone to try some DIY for her for the time being. I have also ordered some completes from dogs butcher without the tripe :) Thankyou for that :) I am hoping she will pick up with her eating soon!

Where about in the Uk are you ?
There are plenty of raw companies around. Have you thought of Landywoods or Bulmers, they do completes and deliver too, our lot love their meats.

Maybe as suggested a complete mix with a different flavour may help.
- By Lauren1 [gb] Date 07.11.20 16:49 UTC
Thank you :) we have tried Landywoods before and she’s not keen on the texture, I am hoping these different flavours of completed from the butchers dog will help though :) thankyou

Sorry I forgot to say we are in Cheshire, we have a couple of raw feeding shops close by so will have a look around at some different brand as well if she still doesn’t take to the other proteins From the dogs butcher :)

If u are new to diy just watch poo . It will give u the best easy guide to how the balance is.going so u don't have to worry.
Actually watch poo anyway lol
If texture is a problem.one yhkng about the dogs butcher is that their completes are a coarser texture than many others .
Paleolridge is another that mince on a coarser blade and deliver nationwide
Some companies  are very pate like and not all.dogs like.that. also tdb doesn't add veg neither I dont think unless they have changed do paleo so also.worth noting if u change
Apologies if u are familiar with all this .
- By Lauren1 [gb] Date 07.11.20 17:10 UTC
No that helps thank you :) I don’t do a lot of DIY to be honest, as you say I usually watch the poo anyway but will be sure to keep a closer eye haha the things we do eh haha
- By furriefriends Date 07.11.20 17:13 UTC
Yep . just don't panic if its not quite right but adjust the next couple of.meals.to.compensate and get it right:)
