Hi all,
My bitch is due in 6 days time.
She had her temp drop on Thursday, it went down to 98f, and it satyed low till Saturday. Also that day she started having light green discharge, which the vet said was ok. He asked if her milk was in yet, and if she had been panting, but she hadn't.
Well I went shopping for additional whelping supplies, on the same day, and I left her with my husband for a couple of hours. When I returned she was panting, and her milk had come in!
No puppies came so today, she had a scan at the vets. The puppies look full term, as they don't have much water left in their sacs, and they are filling them.
She vomited today also.
The vet did a membrane strip during a vaginal exam, and ever since she has been losing thick, clear sticky discharge.
If the membrane strip has worked, how soon will I know? or if it hasn't when shoul I view it as a failure?
This is her first litter, she is a retriever.

Hi Guest
The snotty discharge will be the plug starting to come away and this can happen for a few days, she will probably scratch up and pant alot and be restless and then sleep very heavily for a day or two, labour shouldn't be long afterwards.98 is quite low for her to drop to, it's normally about that and labour begins within about 24 hours.Kepp taking her temperature , it usually rises and then drop right down.
Hope all goes well.
