Hey hope everybody is doing great... so I have a <breed removed> on day 57, yesterday her temp was 36.5 then 37.5 and today it is 37.... I have done plenty of research as this is her first litter I just wanted to see if could get any advise on this temperature situation as I’ve read anything around 37 she is due to have the puppies she has dropped a lot over the past week we’ve been told there are 6-9 and all doing well...

Much as I've never set much score by temperature taking, it's normally when the temperature drops, and STAYS DOWN that you should be able to expect labour to begin within 24 - 48 hours. Before that, you'll find the temperature flucturates. She's a few days yet and frankly I'd hope she hangs on to closer to the norm.

My bitches usually whelp on day 56. Pups healthy, with fully developed lungs.
So you could be looking at soon!!
Thank u for the fast reply, she keeps having episodes on the fast panting for a few mins then it stops and then starts again there isn’t as much moving today and she keeps rolling onto her side
Aww that’s great thank u, had her scanned vets said she and pups were doing great so guess it’s just a waiting game now... iv beats about the temperature going up and down does it rise Again before whelp
I would take the temp thing with a pinch of salt, my girls just had pups and hers is normally 37.8 and it went to 37.1 several days before birth. She stayed at 37.3 for a full day and that’s when she had the pups, her mum was the same at 37.4 never went any lower than that, was very concerned after birth because it went to 39! Vet said that’s normal though apparently and she’s fine, it’s dropped to 38 now 4 days after birth so who knows!
