Make her some Mothers Pudding:

2/3 cup sugar

6 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 cups goat milk

4 egg yolks

3 teaspoon vanilla

Cook on low heat to a pudding consistency.

If it’s something I need to be concerned about or if to just keep feeding her?

Is cornstarch the same as cornflour?

How old are the puppies? By the time the litter is about 3 weeks old the bitch will be eating 4 or 5 times her usual maintenance amount, plus lots to drink. Make sure she's getting plenty of meat in lots of small meals.

No need to give any sugar; that can have a laxative effect and has no nutritional value at all.

Yes.

As long as the pups are gaining weight, all should be fine.

Sugar provides calories, which nursing bitches need an awful lot of....

Not empty ones that provide no nutrition. More meat and less carbohydrate is the better way to go.

Not when a bitch has an urgent need of calories, for nursing and for energy.  If someone urgently needs energy, there is nothing which beats glucose.

As explained in this post from canine nutritionist Magda Chiarella, on the Puppy Culture FB page:  https://www.facebook.com/puppyculture/posts/a-guest-post-from-magda-chiarella-about-mothers-pudding-shes-working-on-a-book-a/1005583846293823/
