Given the current situation, is it still wise to have a section that is promoting people advertising pups, stud dogs etc?  Sorry if I've missed this elsewhere, but travelling to mate a bitch, or buy a puppy is not considered essential travel.  Perhaps that side of the website should be restricted for now?

People may want to search for breeders or stud dogs they may use in the future, not within the next few weeks.

I'm sure any responsible breeder won't rehome a puppy if it means a risk to them or the buyer. People can be sent photos and videos and maybe reserve a puppy once all this is over.

A few weeks ago, nobody realised we would be in this position with Coronavirus and I'm sure most breeders wish they could have forseen what would happen.

My main worry is for puppy farmers and what they will do with the puppies they can't sell. Unlike most breeders listed here I am sure they will hang on to their pups until they can be rehomed

Or they will.continue their practices and sell puppies inspiteof government rules.
Not everyone will know.current rules and finding pups more difficult to.find may be pushed to use these people ini ignorance

Therefore increasing the puppy farmers practices
. Hopefully their will be policing of those but cant imagine how

I am not a breeder but someone who is looking for a puppy to join our family.
I just wanted to agree and say as a buyer I would be really happy to reserve a puppy and receive updates until it was safe to collect. 
It would give something for the family to get excited about, prepare for and look forward to.

Since posting this I've seen so many posts on social media asking if there are pups available, and people are still travelling to have their bitch mated.  I've just watched a video of a nurse in tears because people aren't treating this situation seriously enough.  I've even seen people asking if anywhere's selling charcoal for barbecues for the weekend!

Yes but it's not an essential journey to go buy charcoal briquettes for a barbecue!  What if you break down, get someone to come out, and then a few days later show signs of developing Covid-19, and that person who came to rescue you then went on to rescue umpteen other people, some of which might be NHS workers.

I’d like to think that people buying briquettes are combining it with an actually essential journey.

It’s by no means essential to go to the supermarket just to buy chocolate, but nothing wrong with adding it to the list if you’re going for your weekly food shop!

Unfortunately not, people were suggesting B&Q, hardly an essential trip for charcoal briquettes.
