If anyone in the West Yorkshire area has a spare spot by their hearth, please consider fostering a homeless greyhound or lurcher over the christmas period..............at Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue in Sowerby Bridge, we are absolutely swamped with dogs again and will have to start turning them away soon.
They curl up really, really small..............you wouldn't know you've got one, honest!!! :-)

Guess this is asking too much ... we have a stray lurcher dog ... Vinnie, desparately seeking assistance. He was a stray and is still in the stray kennels but only has limited time there ... in the period we have had him we have managed to rehome 2 other lurchers but he has 'stuck'! I am desparate to stop him going to Leigh Cat & Dogs Home where I fear he will be put to sleep. If anyone anywhere can take him I would transport him. He is no more than 6 months (I think), dark brindle and as always very very affectionate.
OK ... I know I am probably grasping at straws here!

Please DON'T let him go there.................we are really worried about certain lurchers and greyhounds which seem to *vanish* once they've entered their doors. If you have to let him go anywhere, get him to Manchester Dogs Home...........Julie Morgan runs a greyhound and lurcher rescue in Manchester and takes on the ones from MDH. If you contact me privately, I'll give you her number, maybe she can suggest an alternative????

If I were nearer I would certainly do some fostering - I used to do it quite a bit. If anyone in the midlands ( south ) needs any short term fostering, I might be able to help.

At the mo, I don't have anyone needing fostering that far north......but can I keep you in reserve? Occasionally we do get people from Scotland wanting to rehome their lurchers and then we get stuck for transport etc. You could be verrrry useful :-)
