Anyone know of a GOOD boarder around my area please?  Someone who doesnt have a big pack of dogs or live on a main rd?
I find it soo stressful finding somewhere to leave my dog when on holiday, i have no family or friends nearby and he hates kennels

Most.councils have a list of licenced home.boarders which would be a good place to start.
U can speak to them and  get a feel.for.what they can offer

Have  you tried your vet?   They should know of people in their area who do home boarding.

I did a quick Google using your subject and this is one place that came up

There are others - I have no connection with this place btw!  And they may take on a lot of dogs which may not be what you are after.  I'm always wary about places who allow free-running for a number of dogs......

Hi there, thanks for replying. Ive tried the vets nothing really just have details of kennels. I went to see one home boarder but in my opinion she had too many dogs at once, around 7 when i visited and the property was on a very busy main road so wouldn't consider that one.
The one you found i looked at but found some negative reviews saying they wont let you look round to see where the dogs stay.

I think i may have to knock holidays on the head not happy to leave my dog in kennels either , did consider a pet sitter who stays in the home but again how do you know tyey are going to really look after your pets ?

I have used Animal Angels several times.  Always been very happy with them.  When we came back home after three days away my dogs were chilled and happy. Not cheap though!

When I needed to get to the West country from 'up East', over a weekend, to check out some accommodation for an impending move, I had a local couple with decent refs. come in to sit mine.  I was aware that although they said they'd be sleeping in my home, they were doing other 'sitting' too but frankly I felt that was okay for just 3 days max and I had to go.    Yes mine were ok when I got home, but clearly they'd not confined them to the kitchen when they left them as asked, and there was a large (urine?) mark on the living room carpet.   I was not amused.

Over how many years, we actually didn't take holidays, mainly because the cost of boarding them would be more than our holiday cost    We did to away for 9 days at one point, leaving our lot for a kind neighbour to look after.  The trouble with that was everytime we moved to a different mobile area, the phone rang and I immediately panicked thinking there was a significant problem.   We were in Europe at the time!

I think you may be looking at either not going away, or taking your dog with you!!
