
With the 'Sections we needed, I let them go two days over from the first mating and then involved my vet and with her agreement re what the situation was, had the 'Sections done. I would just say that most of those I had to have operated on had started but not progressed to full labour. In other words they had secondary inertia. With mine it was very much the 'ouch' mum thing = give up.
Had the situation not been secondary inertia, I'd have waited although with each extra day, the puppies would be that much bigger which probably would end up needing to have a 'Section done. So I suppose 'your call' was a comment he might have been expected to make?
I never did the kind of testing people do these days (reverse progesterone).
