Hi Karrie,
Do you mean behaviouist or dog trainer/handler?
I was attracted here to get some information I have been looking for and I noticed Darrens posts. I employed a trainer ( not a behaviourist, not for me those ) myself for my first bitch and had excellent results but that was a long time ago and now I have a male and need to employ a trainer again with modern methods for him as I have difficulties when he is off the lead, the previous methods were fine for my bitches but not this male.
Darrens posts were so striking I want to know more about it, if you go to the post "Drive stimulation techniques" you can see his outstanding acheivments. As a prospective employer I want proper lessons which give proper results and whoever trained him is who I would employ or someone like him, if it is a him. There seems to be some quibbles between people who are pro trainers and others but I have not the slightest interest, it's the results which speak the language correctly, one dog learns another does not.
I looked back at Darrens post when he came here for help and if you look at that and comapre, that post is called "Help with a Dog Trainer - Bromley Kent".
I speak as a prospective employer who wants results, I do not want never ending excuses as to why I am not getting them, so from that angle I hope this helps.

I also want to do dog training courses, but i want to become a security dog handler, i sent off for some information from a company that does this and there course fees range from £600 to £1500 so i have now got to do some serious saving.
