Has anyone come across this? My Golden Oldie has a redening of her mouth/tongue/gums at the end of the day only, it's as though there is a sudden surge of blood rushing to that area, the rest of the day everything is a normal pink colour. Another odd thing is that in the past 6 months or so she has lost all the dark pigment from her lips. Any clues?? Anyone seen this before?

I know when my boston's play their muzzle since it is white gets pretty pink, and stays pink for awhile. Sorry couldn't of been of more help.

Only thing I can think of is a reaction to any plastic feeding bowl you might be using?

She has Stainless steel bowls - good thought though.
I am wondering if this has something to do with her breathing as when this occurs, which is only in the evening, she is panting heavy. She will be 12 years old in May and she has had problems with bladder stones, clear for the moment, but I am wondering if this is related. For the rest of the day she is her 'normal' senile self! Bless her.
