I know this might seem a bit strange but I have a mole in my garden. Not unusual with nothing but miles and miles of Welsh hills behind my house you would be right in thinking. The mole pushes earth up, as moles do, the puppy digs down to meet the mole, as puppies do. Trouble is if the pup digs any deeper I'll be digging up coal. So here is the question to all you gardening dog owners. How do I get rid of the mole? I don't want to hurt it, just make it go away.

Leave the dog to get rid of em Gibbsy! :) We`ve got loads of moles & furtunately they have now taken the hint & stay in the fields :) My lot cleared the lawn of them & most of them time the moles stay in the fields.Don`t know how else you can safely get rid of the moles as we`ve tried a couple of things that didn`t work. My dogs have done a better job than anything :) and they have a great time playing pest patrollers :)

HI
know what you mean about moles, there is an electronic device which gives off a sound I think that is too high pitch for the moles so they stay away, I can't hurt them either and have just given up :)

Hi
we bought one of those sonic sound things last year to rid us of a mole, in a newly turfed lawn..........we also had about 20 kiddies toy windmills stuck all over grass. None of them worked at all.
Husband bought a humane mole trap...you bury it in the mole's trench, just where the mole hills are, and cover trench with paving slab. You must check it every day, as the mole gets into the one-way trap, but can't get out. You then catch the mole, and wear thick gloves, cos they have sharp teeth!! and release the mole into a bucket or something, then take it to some fields, and let it go! That's how we caught Moley.
They are beautiful fat little things, and we didn't want to kill it......BUT........the mole is back.....(probably a relative:can't be the same one!) And my lawn looks like there are hundreds of them now. It's only one I think, as moles are territorial, and live alone.
So next month, we will start the mole catching again...sigh!

Where did you buy the mole trap from. we have a mega problem but we could only find a nasty trap that killed them

Hi
we bought it from the local garden centre,......where they keep the nasties like slug pellets and mouse traps!
If you have a problem, try doing a "search" on one of the search engines, for "Humane Mole trap", and you should be able to find one that you can order online or by phone.
Good Luck!
