Hi folks, I am mating my male with a bitch. She is showing all signs of being ready however when he starts to penetrate bitch she thrusts vigorously and he has no success. They have mated before with a successful litter. Has anyone experienced this before as its not something I have ever came accross. Thanks

We have tried that but she is going with so much Force it’s very difficult. I’m just not sure if there is a reason for this behaviour?

I think you might need to elevate her butt on something (across your knee?), so her rear feet are slightly off the floor and she can't thrust?

Yes my much missed first champion bitch was like this.

I only managed to mate her by shear fluke the first time, (4 pups resulted, at almost 4 years of age), after failing the previous season. 

Next time we got nowhere, so following season I had the male to stay early and as she got really frisky, but insisted she wanted to be a boy too, I had to spend my time with hand fanned out in her groin either side of her vulva, and hold her still at the crucial moment, as she kept throwing him out, as you say by thrusting.  She was always a bedding humper in season too.

We managed two matings that time and a litter of 7 was the result.

Strangely the last time she was mated I fully expected to get nowhere, and she went all giggly and compliant with this male, though she was by now nearly 7..
