My 2 1/2 year old [Tiny Breed] is pregnant with her first ever litter, since day 56 I’ve been a nervous wreck, stayed hh uup till all hours, getting up at the crack of dawn, I don’t want to miss the birth, today she’s 58 days pregnant and I started taking her temp I took it twice today and it was 37.1 is that normal? Also 2 days ago she had some mucus discharge it was clear/clouded no smell at all, she isn’t going to her nesting box at all, but instead is choosing to lay in the washing by the dryer, is that a sign? I had to
Lock the door to the washing room for obvious reasons, now she’s just layIng on the sofa, no signs of labour but for the last 2 days she’s been sleeping a lot more than usual and is eating less, how many more days do you think? I’m fully prepared with everything and I mean EVERYTHING she needs, but my worst fear is missing it

Missing it is the least of your worries. Uterine inertia is the biggest worry, and life threatening. Would you recognise it? Do you have a mentor who would recognise it?
I like mine to have a litter by 2 years old, and then have them spayed. They get more likely to need a section, the later you leave it.
Because they are sexually mature at 6 months, the same rules don't apply for breeding other breeds.
I’ve already spoken to my vet about complications she’s had lots of scans, she’s expecting 2-3, and I have the vets personal number in my phone.

Any update, did the pups arrive safely?
She had them on day 60, she had 3 and 1 was so tiny and bald and the vet said it was defected, and recommended I have it put down, he said would never survive, so now she has 2 fat and chunky puppies, there nursing well, she’s very attentive, but she doesn’t have much of an appetite, she never did have much of an appetite to begin with, but I thought after she had the puppies she would finally eat lots, as before her pregnancy she was a very fussy eater and usually only ate properly every few days, she mostly just picks and tastes here and there, this morning I offered some chicken she ate a bit but the puppies started crying so went back to them, so I just put it in her box, she seems more interested in the puppies instead of food :(, the vet said it’s normal tho.
You should be feeding her in her box with the puppies this first week - she will not want to leave them. You will have to put the lead on and almost make her leave them to toilet her outside...

That's good that she whelped okay. Yes definitely feed her in the whelping box.
Well i tried that but she still wasn’t eating, she’s always been fussy and weird about food, like it has to be mashed a certain way, and she only eats from square bowls, (you have to see to believe) shes next level fussy, usually she has one good day where she eats all day, then she’ll go 2-3 days picking, and licking her food, but I found a way to trick her, you’ll probably find me cruel, but I’ve been putting the food on the puppies and she licks it off, and that way she eats lots, and isn’t being fussy, because her instinct is to clean the pups and that’s what she does lol, I don’t put it all over the puppies just a little bit at a time till it’s all gone, works like a charm lol.
