Hi I need a little help my bitch is 63 days today and she has had two small leaks.
the first one wasn't sure if it was a leak the second one was in her whelping box which I noticed some of the covers were wet. she's been panting and kind of making weird moaning noises but this is been going on for a few days.
what I'm concerned about is that she seems to only do that when I'm sitting with her.
today I was sitting with her and she was doing the panting and and the blank stare but then she just keeps getting up and lieing by my bed on the floor, this is where she's been sleeping for the last 3 weeks sometimes she stays in the whelping box sometimes she doesn't .
so I'm really not sure what's going on.

She was also licking the floor of the whelping box this is new she hasn't done this before

She should be sleeping in her whelping box, with you in the same room to keep an eye on what's going on, bearing in mind very often a bitch will go into labour/start whelping during the small hours.   I tended to let mine go 2 days over from the expected date, and if nothing had happened, involve my vet.

Funny thing is she slept in the whelping box last night I woke up to find her in there.

Probably the pups are putting pressure on her bladder.  Licking the blankets could be that she is trying to lick up her leak and clean it. 

It sounds like she is in stage 1 labour to me....

Her due date was yesterday that was counted on the first day that she got tired but from what I'm understanding it doesn't necessarily mean that the eggs were fertilized she had been tied three times in the space of 24 hours in between each

If you don't have experience with uterine inertia then explaining would be a waste of time.  I can only speak for myself as a breeder with many years experience.  I would be at the vets by now with her.

I've just spoken to my vet they have advised me that as long as she's not straining which she isn't she should be ok

I think she's definitely in the first stage she has been digging and making herself a little Den ❤
the only thing is that is that I made her a really nice whelping box!
Took me a whole week to build the thing
she has made her nest outside the whelping box!
in a way which is good because it's right by the door of the whelping box.
she is at the end of my bed so I am trying to encourage her to go into the whelping box I've even put the big blanket over it to make it dark she's not interested.

Really don't mind her having the pups outside the whelping box as I've put padding down and there's a big duvet that she seems to be using.
my concern is obviously when she has the pups what process should I do to put them in the whelping box because even though she can have the Pops there now it's not big enough for her to be there with the puppies.

Why not big enough?  It should be!!  As said I had mine sleeping in the whelping box for a week before the due date, with me in the same room on a cot so I could keep an eye on things through the night and so she became familiar with those surroundings.

Mine tended to suffer with secondary inertia - as soon as contractions began, it was ouch mum..... you had them put there, now you get them out!

I'd be careful about a vet saying wait 'as long as she's not straining'.   In theory maybe, but again if the puppies are just sitting there (sometimes with a small litter, they do) they are growing by the day, potentially making a C.Section more likely to be needed.   As said, if mine went over by more than 2 days from the first mating (recognising that conception may not take place immediately), then I'd need to involve my vet to at least take a look.   It is a fine balance between just leaving things, and taking a pregnant bitch near a vet's office (risk of infection/stress), although of course, he should be able to check her without you actually taking her in.

Hopefully she's had her puppies by now!

I am really tired so excuse me if some of my messages were or are not making much sense I've been up all night.

She has had five pups so far
She is doing great this is her first litter.  I'm so proud of her I've not had to really intervene at all. with the first pup she screamed bless her and was in a bit of shock but got right to it cleaning and cutting the cord.

I would let her have the litter where she wants to be, and then move them with her after she has whelped.  Sit with her by the whelping box - heck, you should be sleeping by it for a week or so - that will help her settle in it.

You have exactly covered the worries I was having!!
