Hi all new here so I'm unsure if I'm doing this correct..
I have a medium breed dog that is 65 days pregnant today (accidentally caught by a neighbours dog that chewed our fence) she has had a scan and pregnancy confirmed and an estimate of 7 puppies the past few days she has been fine her normal self, she has been eating like a pig although has taken to the nesting box for a while. I've noticed a small amount of clear like mucus fluid for the past few days but not alot and her temperature has been 37 to 37.5 all week. Today I have noticed no more discharge but she hasn't ate a thing all day she has just turned her nose up to everything offered she has lay in her bed all day (apart from loo trips) and her temperature was 36.5 thismorning and 36.4 about an hour ago she isnt panting and doesnt seem too uncomfortable I'm just wondering if anyone thinks that this is the start of labour and if so what other signs do I need to be looking for? Again I never set much score re the temperature which will fluctuate.  It's when it drops and stays down, that you should be expecting to see labour begin within 24 - 48 hours.  Knowing mine would go to inertia, usually secondary (ie labour starts but doesn't progress), I involved my vet if mine went more than 2 days over from the first mating and definitely if mine were clearly in trouble.   You could speak to your vet (maybe should?) but he'll probably tell you to wait a bit longer.

I'd think very early first stage, which can last 36 hours
