Just wondering if anyone has any experience of long seasons? Poppy has been losing now for over 4 weeks. She was progesterone tested and ready for mating on day 24 but we are now on day 32 and she is still losing pale watery blood. Anyone any ideas if this is ok?

Perfectly fine.

Think about it if she was ready day 14 her season would still go on for another week.

As she wasn't ready until day 24 then her season would not end for another week or so.

I'd not want this with any of mine, and never did.  Their seasons lasted 21 days, maybe plus or minus a few days.

I'd maybe get her checked in case there is a pyo. going on.  What have her previous seasons been like?

Normal seasons before. It is not Pyo as she is drinking and eating normally, also bright and alert and full of energy and the discharge is not smelly and she has no temperature. I have a wonderful vet who is happy to talk to me on the phone and he is not worried about pyo either as she is ok in herself. She ovulated late so i guess this is just why its dragging on! I was just wondering if any others have had successful matings after seasons like this. The owner of the stud did say she recently had someone bring their bitch on day 29 and she went on to have 10 pups!

Yes, both a late mated bitch and a bitch mated day 15 whose season dragged on a full month.

Yes, bitches are just as likely to be pregnant if mated this late.  Well done on catching it though, the majority of bitches who ovulate that late will miss because their owners will breed too early.  I guess this is one time that the progesterone testing really paid off!

Yes me!  My bitch ovulated on day 28 and went on to have 7 healthy pups with no health issues.

Yes to this as well.
