The amount of foods available is ridiculous in the past I have fed Royal canin but have moved over to AVA/royal canin and a bit of mince now so hard to know whats best?

Interested in others feeding plans - esp those with pugs..

(thanks)

might not be about pugs but i do know raw feeding is the best to go, that is if u can get all raw meat cheaper than kibbles :) But if ever feeding raw , do not mix with kibbles as that will mess up the dogs tummy because kibbles makes the ph level in tummy high, but to be able to break down bones it need to be low, so if feeding raw the ph lvl will be low in tummy, and if u also feed kibble at same time or so, then the ph lvl will go up, so it might mess up the tummy if it keeps going up and down :p so stick to kibbles or raw , its up to the owner :) BUT of course if feeding cooked minced its ok i guess but do not feed cooked bones as they splinter to sharp pieces..raw bones dont splinter ..

My siberian husky had cough and even medicine from vet didnt help, so i switched over to raw feeding and since then he havent had any issues at all , his coat is shiny and soft and even  thick/lots of fur compared to when he was on kibbles.. some on same fb group (raw feeding group) have more proof raw is better than kibbles.. some had yeast in ear that went away on raw, if still dont believe it, check netflix or youtube and search: pet fooled documentary.   it will explain everything thats wrong and bad with kibbles and why raw is best. BUT not every dog is ok on raw, some is best on kibbles. its as i said, up to the owners :)

NOTE! This is from my point of view and from a raw feeding group on fb, im NOT saying u must feed this and that! So please dont have any misunderstandings about what i said :)
its completely up to the owner what they want to feed their dogs! good luck with ur pug sir/maam :)

If u do consider raw which would always be my choice too please do your research. It isn't hard or expensive but u do need to understand what to feed
For example juts put mincemeat isn't sufficient.you need to feed raw bone and offal as well. Veg being optional. The amounts u feed need to be in the correct amounts as well. There are a number of good fb groups as well as decent books to read.

If you are new to raw I recommend choosing a good complete raw food to start with whilst you research whether you want to make from scratch.   All the hard work is done for you and butcher's knife/apron not required.

Raw and kibble mixed is fine - I've fed mine this way for many years (and see/do a lot of dog post mortems via work and am happy that nothing is getting digested faster/slower etc!). I'm currently feeding Royal Canin, was previously using VetSpec and very happy with it
