Does anyone else have a pup/dog that doesnt like the rain ? and no this isnt a wind up post
We have finally managed to get him to tell us he wants to go outside to do "his business" but as soon as he sees the rain he comes back in. We actually had to put a towel down for him to go on and this worked as he didnt like the feel of the wet floor . He isnt too keen going on his walk in the rain either .
Does anyone else have a dog who has similar traits ??

I have 4 dogs who skid to a halt at the door when they see it's raining outside! To get them to do anything last thing at night I have to go out with them, so we all end up wet - they simply refuse to go out alone. Wimps, the lot of them! :)

Your pup has the right idea! :D Who wants to go out in the rain?
I certainly don't if I can help it & my Vizslas all think that they are going to melt if they go out in the rain but racing through deep puddles or crossing streams & getting completely wet is perfectly all right as that is their choice. :)

My Danes are the same. They look at you as if you are about to torture them if you try to get them to go out in the rain  We too have to take them outside and get wet, I think they feel it's fair then :D

oh Willis doesn't mind the rain, infact, he loves it. it makes the ground even softer so that he can get his paws really muddy.
it wouldn't be so bad if he couldn't open all the doors in the house, including the front door and those doors that we have turned the handles upside down

Chloe, what have you done to that dog, he's no Dane ;)
Before we got the concrete done the dogs "paddock" was grassed, at least for the summer. Once the rain started it quickly turned to mud, and there was no way we could get them to go on it to toilet, they hated the mud between their toes ( I did symapthise:) )
Now the concrete is all done they are happy, but if it's raining they will stand it the door way just looking outside and looking back at me as if to say " and you expect me to go out there?" :D

Not missing the muddy footprints from four danes one little bit ;)

Charlie detests the rain - this afternoon being the perfect example, when he sat by the back door whimpering, then must have just got so desperate, he turned round stuck just his back end off the step, and widdled out the door that way :D At least his toilet training is getting somewhere as he didn't wee on the kitchen floor!
As a complete opposite tho, he LOVES mud - once its stopped raining, there is no way we are able to keep him out of it! NOT the best past time for a long coated dog - if there was ever anything that would convince us to keep him clipped short, its that!

Kassie (GSD) doesn't like the rain either - she will hang on and hang on until she's desperate for a wee then run out as quickly as possible:rolleyes: she even starts to head back to the house still peeing sometimes she's that bad:o When we're out on a walk she'll try jumping up inside my coat to get out of the rain!

I think i make my lot into poofs because i am always trying to keep them clean so when it rains they look at me as if to say i dont think so, thats water and mud equals dirt, oh no, no, no.

Tiva is about the only one I have trouble to go and and do her business. Junior doesn't mind to much, T-bone and Dozer (siblings) ask to go out no matter what it is like outside to chase each other and play till their hearts content. Taz well he only goes when he has too. :)

Neither of my two are kken on th rain but Daisy absolutely hates it!
Fortunately she will NOT 'go' in the house either - but she will hold on to it until the last possible moment rather than get wet. It doesn't help if I go out with her and I even tried holding an umbrella over her but she looked at me as if I was mad :D When she just cannot hold on any longer she does a mad dash, does what she has to do, and straight back in, looking very releived! :)
I have known her go over 12 hours between 'wees' because it was raining when she got up in the morning! Her back teeth must have been floating! :D
