Hi there had my bitch scanned today 29 days from first mate but couldnt see anything he did say keep an eye on her for the next week snd if i think she may be he will call back he said she may not have caught straight away so could be a little early ,was wandering if this has happened to anyone else

It would depend on the experience of the scanner. I had my bitch scanned at 28 days from first mating, the scanner was able to tell me that she took after the second mating 26 days before the scan.

I used him last time but he has just bought a new scanner 2 days ago and did seem to be having a few technical problems but said he should only tzke him about a year to know it inside out lol

A second scan at 35 days should be conclusive

Have you ever known a scan at 28 days to show nothing but 35 days to be positive before then can yhis happen

From me, again, even with a neg.scan, my bet is most people would still be looking, when she's gone full term!   Which is why I never did scanning - and even a positive scan doesn't mean anything other than she's in whelp at the time of the scan.   Unless you have a need to know (and maybe I was lucky that I didn't?) I found it better to wait and if nothing happened within 2 days of the due date, go in and have x-ray done.  Plus you normally see puppies moving around by the seventh week, unless there are only a few and up under the ribcage.

If i mated my bitch on feb 19th but wasnt spot on with her timing .she tied both days for 20 mins how long is the sperm live for what is roughly the lsdtest she could have caught anybidy have any idea. She was scanned at what was 29 days from first tie but didnt see anything but her nipples are looking slightly bigger so not sure if she caught later as i believe sperm can stay live for a while any advice please greatly appreciated.

There are really too many variables to determine a due date or even know how pregnant she is - unless you either did progesterone testing to determine ovulation OR cytology to determine diestrus.

Semen can live as short as 3 days or as long as 10 days, it depends on the stud dog and his virility.

You simply can't know either way.  I would wait until day 35 and scan again, possibly using another scanner if there is another recommended in your area.  Or you can just wait and see.

When she was scanned with her last litter we was yold could see 4 for definite and she went on to have 7 appears to be very good at hiding them lkl .not long now .
Thankyou to all that gave advice x
