Hi I bought my rottie 6mths ago from a well known breader however  im still waiting for her papers as her dad was from abroad and apparently the breaded stated she can't get a second paper after her 1st paper was destroyed in a flood.  Any advice in what I can do. Thanks Andrea jeff

A pedigree, stating the family tree as it were, should not be a reason for delay. The breeder should have had a copy of both parents pedigree and be able to provide you with the combined information on a pedigree form on the day you collected your puppy. Nowadays even Kennel Club registration certificates should normally be available in that time too. If you message me with the names of your pups parents and it's date of birth, I will check the Kennel Club website to see if a litter was ever registered.

The kennel club will issue duplicate papers to the registered owner (that's the breeder) to forward to you, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Is the litter registered with the kennel club? We can check for you to be sure. Send me a pm and i can look it up.
If the litter is registered then the breeder can ask for paperwork to be resent to them to pass to you.

When you say well known is that they show or work their dogs?

She said the mum was registered but the dad was from Serbia and she is having difficulties getting a copy of its kennel register.  At 5he moment she is not answering my calls, her name is Caroline Morgan from Mawbray cumbria she has bread Rottweiler for a long time.

She said the mum was but couldn't register the pups as she couldn't get a copy of the male pedigree as it's from Serbia and their kennel club won't give them a second copy. Don't know what I can do her name is Caroline Morgan from Mawbray cumbria .

Btw its bull about the Serbian KC as i know plenty who have imported and used dogs from over there. A 5 generation export pedigree is needed. Not difficult and thats normally given by the breeder who would have sorted that. Something sounds fishy to me

Have you got a copy of the advert? If it was listed as pups would be kc reg then take it to trading standards and also flag up with the kc too

I don't think it is necessarily fishy. In order to register a litter by a foreign sire, the breeder needs to supply our KC with the certified copy of the Three-Generation Pedigree issued by the Serbian KC. This is something which the breeder would arrange in advance with the owner of the sire to be supplied once whatever the terms of the mating have been satisfied. If the breeder lost/damaged the previously supplied copy, they need to ASK the owner of the sire to send them a replacement, and I suppose rely on their willingness to bother to do so. Which might well be a problem! And the Serbian KC is not going to supply this copy to anyone but the owner of the dog, therefore I don't see a way around should there be potentially a problem.
