Hi new to breeding and wanted to know can I use the panacur 10% wormer on mum while nursing puppies? I didn't realise she needed to be wormed while pregnant and now I feel awful!

Yes of course you would give her 1ml per kg of bodyweight as one dose, when the pups are wormed.

The pups should get 1/2ml per kg weight given for three days.

Our bitches, wormed before being mated, were then wormed again when the puppies were first wormed, at 2 weeks.   That was all.   And our puppies, who were wormed every 2 weeks from that age, up to the time they went to their new homes, with instructions for the new owners to get them wormed again at around 3 months.   I gave the new owners a full medical history, wormed when and with what.   We only dosed our puppies once every 2 weeks, using Sherleys Worming Syrup.

Modern wormers have different timings depending on the product and what part of the worm life cycles it deals with, so it is important to read the dosage and frequency for the given product..
