Great news!  This sounds like a perfect solution.  I do hope this works out as it would suit everyone - especially your puppy!  You would know that she is definitely safe & in good hands - and that you have made the very best of a difficult situation to ensure that she has a great home.  Fingers crossed!

Glad to hear these 'gundog owners' don't have large breed gundogs (re my PM about her) because, regardless of the variety of Basset,  given the nature of the Basset, they will run and run as youngsters, long before they should, and end up unsound adults.   I realise the BB de G isn't anywhere near as heavy as the Basset, but given their similar conformation, they still need to be taken slowly, at a sensible pace, through the early months, building up muscles to support the bone they do have until by a YEAR old, they should be good to go.

This prospective home would appear to be good.   Hope it works out.
