Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / AON Testing for Cocker Spaniels

I've had a couple of my dogs tested for AON with Laboklin, recently ordered the swab kits for my next two girls to be tested which Laboklin sent, only to be told they are no longer doing the test due to licensing problems.

Does anyone know where else I can get them done please?

Have you looked to see if it is included in the MYDogDNA panel testing by Genescoper

Looks like the only place that the KC will register results from is OFA in the US

Does that really matter.  one of the the two most important DNA tests for my bred isn't recorded by the KC on registration docs.

In the old days no health tests were and we still Hip scored and Eye tested.

Also OFA isn't a testing body but a recording body, primarily Hips???

No it doesn't matter just seemed odd that I ordered the testing kits from Laboklin on Monday, tests showing on their website, kits arrived yesterday, today the test isn't showing on their website, just seemed really strange that in a matter of 2 days they don't have a license for the test, I've already had dogs tested with this company so hope there isn't anything dodgy happening and that the ones I've had done.

Laboklin did sent the samples to OFA for testing, so unless they've messed up with the results I have no idea what has happened, Laboklin was one of the companies that the Kennel Club would register results against our dogs.

Never mind, I've ordered them now with OFA

As far as I know they sent a lot of tests to Optigen, who had the patents for publication of results for various tests like the prcd-PRA one for example..

I've never used Laboklin before, always sent my samples direct to Optigen for pra and Antagene in France for FN testing

and they send to Optigen for the actual testing, they run the DNA samples and then Optigen test.

It's the same when MyDogDNA panel do the add on test for prcd-PRA and Laboklin etc, they prepare the DNa and Optigen test it. Though other labs also test themselves.

It's all about Licences.

No, FN is done directly at Antagene if you send one sample to each company, otherwise it takes twice as long for Antagene to extract the DNA and forward it on after they've tested for FN, plus Optigen do group discounts which help

Worldwide DNA tests.
MyDogDNA.

On production of official certification, Champdogs is happy to list all test results for all dogs listed on our site.

Thanks admin, I like the results to be registered with the KC too, so if parents are clear it will show any offspring clear too
