
Yes - to a degree. I never let mine go more than 2 days over, from the first mating, given that conception may not have taken place on that day. I'd bet she whelps tonight BUT if you are worried, and we can't see what's going on with your bitch, get your vet involved. Many will say let nature take it's course, and then you find you lose mum and the litter!! Once the temperature drops and stays down, then you should be able to expect labour within 24 - 48 hours. BUT again, each bitch is different and each pregnancy/whelping too, even with the same bitch.
You have to decide what is the better of your options. Sit tight and wait, or get the vet involved. Just know that if you take her in, car journeys often get things going - so take somebody with you to watch mum, and a box with a warm pad and covers on it + your whelping gear.... and be prepared to pull over! Your vet would be able to tell you whether she's dilated and whether a shot of oxytocin is worth giving.
Unless she's in obvious distress (nasty discharge and having strong contractions getting nowhere), I'd wait at least until tomorrow.
