Hi, I have recently bought a blaster for my Golden Retriever which I’m very happy with and works well on her fur.

Does anyone else have any tips how to keep her fur “plumped” also do any of you use these coats I keep seeing people using at the shows to protect their fur from getting dirty etc. Where could I buy one?

Your help is much appreciated! I am still new to the showing world!

I don’t use a blaster, I use a ‘dry dog coat’ which if I remember correctly are made somewhere in Lincolnshire. They look like the mesh rugs racehorses wear with ‘snorkel’ neck which extends over the head. They look really embarrassed wearing them, but they can dry lying down, they’re not noisy and they keep the fur in place otherwise one looks like an explosion in a mattress factory. I have seen a one piece waterproof suit that protects and keeps their undercarriage clean (it has gaps in appropriate places so they can wee and poo) made in Lancashire. Not used one, but a friend recommends them.

I use one on my flat coat although a different make. Unfortunately I've lost the details but definitely recommend. Brooke since spaying has a very fluffy coat and with this she actually looks like an fcr again
