I am a border collie lover looking for breeder having pups in the next few months in the North west.

Although it's not really a website I like, you might take a look on Pets 4 Homes where you'll find a lot of Border Collies advertised, many 'op North'.  BUT you absolutely must do your homework as I do hesitate to point you to this website.   I would say that within my own main breed, there are now a lot of 'better' breeders using that website.

There are currently two litters of BCs listed on this website, one in Angus and the other in Bedford.   As for the KC Lists, to be on there you have to register a litter (of course and it's a start) and pay the fee.   Is all.   I was listed on there, once, and found myself listed with known puppy farmers.  Never again.  You'd still have to do your homework as being there is no guarantee of finding a reputable breeder producing good stock.

There is, of course a list of Breeders on this website and they may have litters planned to fit OPs time-frame.

I agree u need to do homework wherever u are looking .nothing is guaranteed. I think when looking for a pup you also may have to travel.further than first thought and timing may have to either more flexible or be prepared to wait longer for right pup. If I contact breeder s even if they don't have  litter plans they may no others  who have Jmo. It worked for me even though I travelled around 200 miles in the end

It might be worth thinking about what you want a border collie for. Is it for breed showing or to train/compete with in something like agility or obedience? This could make a difference in your choice of breeder. Either way look very carefully in to health testing.

I am not getting a border collie for show or agility I just like border collie as a pet but would like to train it to be obedient and I like the breed because of they are intelligent and quick leaning.

Welcome Peter! Have you owned a border collie before? If you are not going to work it, or do agility etc, what will you do with it? Collies are happiest when they have a good job.

No I haven't owned a border collie before but have always loved border collie I will keep it mentally stimulated and give plenty of exercise also try teach it new tricks so it won't just be a pet it would also be a companion for me and the wife as we don't have any children my wife works shifts but I am at home so I will be spending most of the time with the dog.

Collies are happiest when they have a good job.

Read or heard somewhere.......................  If you don't give a Collie a job it will become self-employed ... you won't like it

A friend bought a registered Welsh Sheepdog .......... she ended up buying some sheep for Bron as a xmas present (she does have a bit of land). She now has 5 B Collies and is into sheepdog trials
