Morning I toke my [toy breed] to be scanned last night we mated her with a dog that’s never not got a bitch pregnant we think she’s 27-35days the lady scanned her and said there’s fluid but no pups and to re scan next week could this mean she’s just earlier than we thought or there’s no pups we r planning a holiday and don’t want to go away if she’s pregnant anyone had this before plz

Morning we caught her mating on the 11th sept then quite a few times upto 17th sept then we brought her home and my male chihuahua who we thinks to young had a few goes so can’t be 100% sure just the fluid made me think maybe she is just earlier than we through she’s got a hard Tummy it’s swollen her boobs r growing so dunno thanks for taking ur time to reply

You do realise that it wasn't a good idea to mate her more than twice - now you won't know what her due date is, other than within that time-frame.

My feelings about scanning have been posted before, so suffice to say, as I always did, it's a waiting game.   By 7 weeks you should see puppies moving around unless she's keeping her condition secret (tucked up under the ribcage) to the last moment.   Just to add, regardless of your plans (when we did a litter, we cleared all other activities until we knew what the situation was - well past the due date with zip), I'd bet even if you've been told nothing there, you'll still be watching

A scan only tells you the situation at the time of the scan.   Not that she'll necessarily carry to term.   X-ray a couple of days after the due date, will confirm the situation.

ps   Letting your own dog near her until she was out of season - brilliant!   Not.   If by chance he did the job, you won't know which puppy came from which male - unless you DNA test each puppy!!!

We got our other dog the day before we got belle back as we rescued him before he was put to sleep he’s only 8months

Thanks for your reply girls r so confusing she’s got pink nipples hard stomach and fluid on scan don’t no wether to pay for another scan or wait and see if it turns into anything maybe it’s a phantom

Just to add (as I've also written on another website about this!!) at 8 months, your male is quite able to impregnate her.   I had one who came out to us at around 7 months (UK to Canada at the time) and he managed to mate with, and successfully tie all on his own (unusual with my breed!) when he was barely 8 months.   It was a successful mating too (puppies!) not that the quality of that litter was especially good - he was better with a daughter of that bitch - he again helped himself with her!

From my limited experience with false pregnancies, it usually happens after the litter would have been born.   Lactating and nursing toys.  Bitches of my main breed are generally very maternal (there are exceptions!) but when one starts this, it's usually kinder to have them spayed.

Was it a vet or a private scanner? Non-vets who only do scanning are often much better than vets at seeing pups. By my counting the last mating was 31 days ago so pups should easily be seen, and I'd worry about the fluid in case it's pyometra .  An experienced scanner should also have been able to tell if there were empty sacks if pups had been reabsorbed. But a vet should have picked up on the possibility of pyometra.

It was a private scanner she said re scan next week so I’ll ask her then what it could be she might of got caught later I don’t no the fluid is worrying me now

I think it would be wise to take your dog to a vet because if this is pyometra, waiting a week would be a big mistake

I'd not thought about a Pyo.  It's worth checking for sure although frankly if this was what's going on, she'd be unwell!!  There can be a close pyometra where you'd not see any nasty discharge (unlike the open sort where you do).
