Topic Dog Boards / General / Basset on Fitzpatrick's new programme

This may be impossible, but does anybody know if it's possible to find out who owns the patients Noel Fitz. treats.   There was a Basset on a recent programme, being treated for spondylitis.   She was so like my boy - same age and living with people in Hertfordshire.   I'm wondering whether she could have been a sister.   I'm not sure I liked what went on - she had spinal surgery and is now full of nuts and bolts ..... we had a hound go down with this at around 8, and unlike this bitch, he was off his back legs.   She wasn't.  Surgery was not an option (even if it had been possible back then) and not what I'd have gone for if I'm honest, cost aside.   Once we had the pain under control, he lived on into his 15th year.

Noel Fitzpatric is a very clever man. I do often wonder if at times though, maybe he is just too clever

I would.think the only chance of getting in contact with the owners would be be asking if u could leave your details to be passed on
.quite properly .confidentiality will make it very hard.
not everyone has good Intent and i could see some  owners getting a lot of grief  over some of the stories .

You could leave your contact details with Fitzpatrick’s- but having expressed your opinion about their choice of treatment for their dog maybe they’d not be so keen to make contact.

I would have thought if Fitzpatrick acted as a conduit between owners they could be responsible for all sorts of problem that may arise

Can u go through  more usual channels ie your boys breeder ?

I'm afraid you, and the other similar responses, are right!!  Unfortunately my boy's breeder isn't able to be communicated with any more, for various reasons so although that would have definitely been an option, it isn't now.   Sadly!  Apart from how she was treated (!!) I'm slightly interested because my boy has all kinds of structural problems - if Noel saw his x-rays, he'd be gagging!!   Two hip replacements and all kinds of spinal issues.............

I might give the owner of his sire an email to see if she knows about that bitch.

Add -   I have now sent an email to NF's website asking if they might be prepared to give my details to the owners of that bitch.   It will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens!!  Of course I didn't make any reference to my feelings about this surgery!!
